This posting will be used to fill multiple Mechanic/Avionics/Structures positions.
This position is for a Mechanic/Avionics/Structures team member of the T&E Eglin AFB Mod Team supporting flight test modifications for F-16 Developmental and Operational Test programs.
The successful applicant must be able to remove and install aircraft wiring, components, and assemblies into chassis, racks, and other aircraft locations. They will perform aircraft system modifications using T-2 documentation and available engineering and technical data.
Typical duties for all positions:
- Perform, conduct, and document preventative maintenance checks required for the asset and associated subsystems.
- Update all required maintenance data collection/aircraft modification records.
- Perform and assist with the installation and check-out of aircraft modifications.
- Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals, T-2 modification packages, or engineering documents.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and service aircraft and engine systems.
- Must be familiar with a wide range of Ground Support Equipment to support Operational Checkouts and Follow-on-Maintenance after aircraft modification are complete.
- Apply extensive technical expertise, and have full knowledge and be able to assist in the performance of other related disciplines.
The successful applicant will team with USAF, contractor, and civil service engineers and maintainers as part of an integrated test team. The Maintenance Specialist will apply extensive technical expertise to develop solutions to complex problems in support of technical planning, system integration, and modification of unique flight test aircraft. The successful applicant will support the Ground and Test Ops Teams and assist maintenance and logistics support, verify correct aircraft configurations, and assist in aircraft anomaly resolution.
The Mechanic Specialist will represent the organization for installations of F-16 modifications for the Test and Evaluation directorate. The applicant will interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters requiring extensive coordination between multiple organizations. Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
**Alternate shift, overtime, travel and weekend work may be required to support mission & staffing needs.
**Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.**

Aeronautics
Basic Qualifications:
5-7 years broad hands-on working experience in either:
- Aircraft Avionics maintenance
- Aircraft Maintenance
- Aircraft Structural maintenance
Must be able to read/interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and maintenance instructions.
Must be knowledgeable of Tool Control, FOD, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, and Security programs.
Experience with USAF maintenance activities and procedures.
Desired Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with flight test aircraft modifications and the T-2 Mod process.
USAF 7 skill level or 5 skill level (or equivalent).
Strong understanding of the aircraft maintenance process.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
