Overview
CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist II join the team in Quantico, VA. In this role, the successful candidate will be a part of the Configuration Section, which provides operational support to maximize the organization's capabilities and readiness. The objective of the Configuration Management Section is to provide Configuration Management to the organization for both Continental US (CONUS) and Outside Continental US (OCONUS) locations. The section ensures hardware, software, virtual and other service assets/configuration items are properly managed throughout their lifecycle, to include their relationships and dependencies to other related configuration items and associated contracts. Physical service assets and configuration items are currently estimated at 7,000 records, with the integration of network discovery tools.

Responsibilities
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-
As part of a diverse Team, the candidate will use their skills with ITILv4, BMC Atrium CMDB 8.0 or greater and IT Service Management concepts, practices and procedures to support the following:
- Analyzes and reconcile large volumes of data to identify discrepancies, assess findings, and develop effective data mitigation strategies.
- Manage and track all customer service assets and configuration items, ensuring accurate records and accountability within the Configuration Management Database.
- Prepares and maintains status reports and lifecycle documentation; supports verification processes and audit activities.
- Conducts physical configuration audits in collaboration with government personnel at five major Client sites. Trips will not exceed 4 days per audit.
- Performs impact assessments of proposed changes, evaluating system dependencies to inform decision-making.
- Provide updates to product catalog for new and retiring products and services.
- Researches lifecycle information and product bulletins for hardware and software to support sustainment planning and refresh/replacement strategies for end-of-life systems.
- Creates and manages requests to update objects within the Remedy system.
Qualifications
Required Experience and Education:
- IAT II (CCNA Security, CYSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, SSCP)
- Possess IT Infrastructure Library Foundations certification (ITILv3 or higher)
- 2-3 years providing IT Asset/Configuration Management Support
- Familiarization with IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts, practices, and procedures
- Mid-Level understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Mid-Level understanding of Microsoft Access
Preferred Skills:
- Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) Atrium Configuration Management Database
- (CMDB) training 8.0 or greater
- Mid-level knowledge of the BMC Remedy ITSM suite and associated consoles (e.g.,
- Software Asset Management, Technical Refresh, Change Management, Incident
- Management, Release Management, Service Request)
- 4-6 years providing IT Asset/Configuration Management Support
- Mid-level knowledge of both BMC Internal Reporting Tool (BIRT), BMC Analytics and
- SMART reporting (preferred)

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require
- standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally
- favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or
- unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an
- office environment, with standard office equipment available.
- Contractor site with 0-10% travel possible
- Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
- 10 lbs. maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles.

Work Schedule:
- Mon - Fri 8:00am - 4:00pm, Once settled and fully trained, may be approved to telework one day/week. Working hours may also be adjusted to accommodate individual needs, as approved by the section.
