About the position:

The Mechanic (Electrician) provides general electrical maintenance support to the Navy Medical Readiness Logistic Command (NMRLC) fleet of Civil Engineer Equipment (CEE) that supports Expeditionary Medical Systems (EXMEDS).

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Dismantle, repair, replace, install and maintain electrical equipment such as hardware, AC/DC servo drives, electronics, circuit boards, electrical accessories and others
• Inspect, replace and repair equipment from defects in wiring, switches, motors, generators, circuit breakers, transformers, circuit boards, and computer electronic parts, accessories, hardware, and others
• Conduct electrical testing for production related components, including hi-pot, impedance, electrical generator testing and copper resistance testing, as needed to assist engineers
• Installing electric motors and motor controls circuits
• Repairs and maintains generators and motors
• Installs electrical conduits
• Follow all safety rules and work in a safe manner
• Troubleshoot, repair, modify and rebuild mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Candidate must be knowledgeable in CEE types of equipment and Navy maintenance procedures.
• Candidate must be able to achieve license to operate various sizes of material handling equipment.
• Candidate must have the ability to work at an accelerated pace under emergencies or operational demands.
• Candidate must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Requirements include walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items.
• Candidate is required to lift and carry weight over 45 pounds.
• Candidate must be able to work in an Austere environment.
• Candidate must have the ability to climb onto equipment to perform maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrician operation.
• Must be license by the State of Virgina
• Must possess and current valid driver's license.
• Must be able to understand, read, and write in the English language
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Work Location: Williamsburg, VA

Travel: Minimal Travel required.
