Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Integrator to support on-site operations within a defense customer environment. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and mission execution, ensuring development teams can operate efficiently within a complex, high-security environment.
You will work directly alongside a small team of software engineers supporting submarine system modernization efforts, including integration of next-generation acoustic and data processing capabilities. Your primary focus will be removing operational friction, coordinating resources, and enabling engineers to stay focused on delivering mission-critical software.
This role is ideal for someone who understands technical systems and thrives in environments where coordination, communication, and execution are critical to success. Today, engineering productivity is constrained by operational bottlenecks, including access delays, scheduling conflicts, and process inefficiencies. This role exists to eliminate those barriers and enable engineers to deliver faster, more effectively, and with greater impact. You will play a critical role in scaling the team’s ability to execute and in reducing reliance on a single point of knowledge within the program.
What You’ll Do
• Serve as the primary on-site integrator supporting a team of 4+ software engineers
• Coordinate test bay scheduling, system access, and operational logistics
• Navigate customer processes (forms, approvals, access requests) to remove friction for the engineering team
• Translate technical requirements and system behavior between stakeholders and developers
• Assist in validating system outputs and ensuring alignment with mission requirements
• Maintain awareness of submarine development lifecycle processes and integration workflows
• Track and document open items, risks, and decisions to ensure continuity across the program
• Build relationships across the customer environment to accelerate coordination and execution
What We’re Looking For
• Active Secret Clearance (required)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (critical to success in this role)
• Experience working in or alongside a software development environment
• Ability to operate in a structured, high-security DoD environment
• Highly organized with strong follow-through and ownership mindset
• Comfortable performing coordination, scheduling, and facilitation work (not just technical tasks)
• Mission-driven, adaptable, and eager to learn
Nice to Have
• Background in submarine systems, sonar, or maritime operations
• Military experience
• 2+ years of experience in a technical or software-related environment
• Familiarity with submarine lifecycle development or C4ISR systems
• Experience working in ARCI lab environment
• Familiarity with NUWC Newport, NAVSEA, or PEO IWS organizations
