Duties
Help
  • Plan work schedules for subordinates to establish deadlines and priorities.
  • Determine assignments to be performed based on personnel skills and the availability of equipment and materials.
  • Inspect completed work for quality to ensure adherence to work requirements.
  • Provide continuous on-the-job training regarding safety and proper work methods.
  • Manage equipment and provide consultation on the proper repairs.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks for the installation, operation, and repair of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
  • Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading)
  • Ability to Lead or Supervise
  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.
  • Knowledge of Materials
  • Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)


Physical Effort: Work requires the incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in uncomfortable positions. The incumbent frequently lifts, carries and sets up tools, equipment, parts that weigh up to 50 pounds. Occasionally may lift and carry item over 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: Works inside buildings, shops, and outside. Subject to contact with dirt, dust, and grease. Also subject to cuts, bruises, and shocks and burns from high voltage.
