ENGINEERING TECHICIAN

Duties

• You will review designs and completed specifications, detailing all aspects of job planning and execution.
• You will read and study drawings or latest drawing alteration for compatibility in relation to work request.
• You will train military personnel in the planning and estimating of structural repairs.
• You will work with Production Department supervisors to support fluctuating workload requirements.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience developing plans, sketches, and work procedures for Formal Work Procedures (FWP) and Controlled Work Packages (CWP) for structural repair or modification based on established criteria and standards.
• Experience assisting in conducting on-site inspections of ship systems (e.g., doors, hatches, water-tight items) to compare actual conditions with work requests and identify necessary changes.
• Experience utilizing technical documentation, such as manufacturer's drawings, technical manuals, and federal supply system data, to support the planning of repairs and the procurement of materials.
• Experience assisting in the training of military or junior personnel in the planning and estimating of structural repairs.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
