Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer for a contract opportunity in Fort Worth, TX.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Bachelors degree in STEM Discipline (Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering preferred) 8+ years of safety critical software architectural design, coding or test experience (Flight Controls, Engine Control, Utility (Fuel, Landing Gear, Cooling) Subsystems, Displays, Stores Management.) Full life-cycle experience with system safety analyses, standards, and tools. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in the resolution of highly complex issues, including direct interaction with senior leadership within company and customer organizations and a demonstrated ability to deal with complex and challenging customer and supplier relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with communicating cross-functionally.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Software Safety Engineer you will be responsible for performing analyses for hazard identification, evaluation, control, and coordination in support of software safety activities for the F-22 platform. Your responsibilities will include:
Support software development, test, and release cycles as a safety expert. Develop and execute the System Safety Program Plan. Conduct functional hazard, fault tree, preliminary hazard, and software hazard analyses using quantitative and qualitative techniques. Lead contractual effort(s) and mentor the safety team to meet deadlines with high technical quality. Coordinate system safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management, and external customers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
8+ years of implementing MIL-STD-882, DO-178, IEEE 1228, ISO 26262, ARP-4761, or ARP-4754. Safety critical software architectural design, coding or test experience Software quality experience Experience with software safety requirements across the full development lifecycle from hazard identification through development to system/software qualification test. Military or civilian flight experience Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754 Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes. Previous experience writing technical reports on complex subject matter. Experience with military or government programs. Knowledge of Statistical Analysis Methods. Model-based system engineering (MBSE) experience. Experience working with international customers and suppliers. Government contract execution experience.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
