This position requires an active Secret security clearance with onsite work at Kirtland Airforce Base in Albuquerque, NM. There is a potential for some hybrid work from home. Candidates who do not hold a Secret clearance are not eligible for hire.
We are seeking a Software Engineer on our team. Working with subject matter experts, developers, and fellow engineers you will work as a team to overcome our government customer's most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches. You'll use your passion to learn new tools and techniques, while helping to identify and implement system improvements. Using Agile Software development principles, you'll guide development of safe, secure, and effective weapon system architectures. You'll analyze the needs and the environment to ensure the solution weapon system contractors develop considers current architecture, operating environments, and safety and surety for the system, for current and future functionality and enhancements.

Day in the Life:
- This role is not design work and doesn't require coding.
- Collaborate daily with subject matter experts, developers, and engineers to understand complex system needs and ensure alignment across the team
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives to keep development efforts on track
- Review and analyze system architectures to ensure they meet safety, security, performance, and mission requirements
- Evaluate solutions to confirm they align with existing system architecture, operating environments, and future capability needs
- Support verification and validation efforts by assessing requirements, test approaches, and traceability
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and recommend enhancements that strengthen system reliability and effectiveness
- Translate advanced engineering concepts into clear, understandable language for non-technical stakeholders
- Maintain documentation and ensure requirements remain accurate, traceable, and aligned with overall system goals
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 4+ years of experience with engineering design, development, or evaluation
- Experience with Agile Software Development
- Experience with verification and validation
- Experience in requirement traceability
- Ability to communicate advanced concepts in engineering clearly and translate to non-technical individuals
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Top Secret clearance preferred.
