A day in the life of a Field Service Engineer, focusing on Facilities Maintenance Planning and Analysis and Asset Management, consists of supporting continued and future facility operations by managing and maintaining accurate inventory records of installed assets and assessing their condition to inform investment decisions and improve the quality of information used for sustainment and restoration of critical facilities. Operating a company vehicle, as required, to access facilities to be inspected and inventoried.
The Field Service Engineer will perform regular asset inventories within the facilities, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring data accuracy through comparisons with other inventory records.
The Field Service Engineer will generate formal reports based on the results of the analysis and provide recommendations to the customer. The Field Service Engineer will maintain and adhere to procedural documentation that meets corporate and/or industry standards.
As an aside, team members will be exposed to a variety of Predictive Maintenance technologies and building inspection disciplines, which presents opportunities to cross-train in other fields, like; vibration analysis, ultrasound, infrared thermography, corrosion control, and other building science disciplines.

SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation's nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.

Full-Time Salary Range: $79370 - $134929

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

In this job, you will:
- Conduct regular inventories of installed facility assets, including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fixtures, etc., verifying asset existence, condition, and location.
- Manage and maintain the Equipment Database containing all asset information to ensure accuracy and completeness. Ensure data consistency and integrity. Perform data analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement.
- Compare inventory results with those of facility owners and maintenance contractors. Investigate and identify inventory discrepancies and reconcile differences.
- Prepare analysis results and use web-based applications (SharePoint) and/or Microsoft Office Programs to generate formal reports.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to help make informed decisions.
- Generate communication documents to inform internal and external team members of critical issues.
- Ensure execution of systems engineering processes throughout the project lifecycle, report on project status, and measure progress against specific plans.
- Prepare and review packages, present data to both internal and external customers, and provide feedback to improve processes and work to meet engineering objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in engineering disciplines and ensure cost-effectiveness when providing recommendations.
- Conduct detailed analysis of corrective maintenance (CM) and preventative maintenance (PM) reports to identify trends, recurring issues or failures, and opportunities for maintenance improvements.
- Evaluate asset performance data to assess reliability, lifecycle condition, and compliance with maintenance standards.

- Familiarization with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Inventory Condition Assessment Program (ICAP) or other Facility Condition Assessment experience is desirable but not required
