ECS is seeking a Quantum Cryptographic Engineer to join our team remotely.
We are seeking a Quantum Cryptographic Engineer to support cryptographic discovery, risk assessment, and transition planning for U.S. Army programs. This role executes hands-on ACDI operations, inventory development, and RMF integration under the guidance of senior engineers and program leads.
Who this role is for:
• 3+ years of federal or defense cybersecurity experience
• Working knowledge of RMF, eMASS, and DoD cyber governance
• Able to communicate technical findings clearly to program stakeholders
• Building cryptographic and PQC expertise with a desire to grow into advisory roles
Key Responsibilities:
PQC Advisory & Engineering
• Support Army programs on PQC transition activities and cryptographic modernization under senior engineer direction
• Conduct cryptographic discovery, inventory, and risk assessments across enterprise and mission systems
• Contribute to migration roadmaps and support system-level transition planning activities
Inventory, Reporting & Modernization
• Execute and operationalize automated cryptographic discovery (ACDI)
• Develop cryptographic inventories and CBOMs identifying quantum-vulnerable dependencies
• Contribute to CONOPs development enabling Army system owners to produce PQC migration cost estimates by priority category
• Support enterprise reporting and alignment to DoD PQC directives
RMF & Compliance Integration
• Support integration of cryptographic findings into RMF workflows, eMASS, and POA&M development
• Execute against CONOPS, SOPs, and TTPs to support scalable cryptographic operations across Army system owners
• Maintain quality and consistency in cryptographic reporting and remediation activities in accordance with program standards
• Ensure alignment to federal mandates including NSM-10 and CNSA 2.0
Stakeholder Engagement
• Support coordination with program managers, ISSOs, and acquisition stakeholders as directed
• Document and communicate technical findings in clear, actionable formats for program stakeholders
• Collaborate with senior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices
Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000

Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cryptography, or related disciplines in federal or defense environments
- Secret Clearance at a minimum
- Ability to meet or working toward DoD 8140 qualification requirements
- Experience supporting Army or DoD programs in a cybersecurity or engineering capacity
- Working knowledge of RMF principles and familiarity with eMASS
- Foundational knowledge of cryptographic engineering concepts including PKI, key management, and secure protocols
- Awareness of PQC standards including FIPS 203, 204, and 205 and a desire to develop deeper expertise
- Experience with ACDI tools or cryptographic inventory platforms
- Background with Army programs (ARCYBER, PEOs, etc.)
- Experience in classified environments (NIPR/SIPR)
- Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CASP+, or equivalent; CISSP a plus
- Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell)
