This position provides support to the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, 46th Test Squadron, Tactical Data Links Test Flight at Eglin AFB as a member of the Advanced Programs Lab (APL) system administration team. This support includes the following:
- Provide system administrator support to include troubleshooting desktop workstations, replacing or upgrading hardware and software, user account and file permission management.
- Work with a team to troubleshoot and apply innovative approaches to resolve unusual/complex issues
- Ensure compliance with Defense Information System Agency (DISA) guidelines, USAF security updates and cybersecurity policies and procedures on Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Build and support physical and virtual host environments.
- Responsible for the functionality and performance of lab hardware and software systems.
- Perform program scripting in PowerShell to support system automation.
- Create and manage system user accounts in accordance with policies and directives.
- Employ local group policy management and file share, system, and account administration
- Perform regular Nessus security scanning, system patching, and vulnerability remediation to maintain a high-security posture on offline platform IT and prototype systems
- Perform hardware diagnostic testing of offline equipment; schedules and performs preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Documents all preventive maintenance actions, troubleshooting efforts, repairs, and related daily activities using established logs and databases.
- Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
- Support DT&E enclave assessment and authorization IAW applicable DoD and AF instructions.
- Any other related duties as directed.

Required Experience
Required Experience:
- Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM field and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Associates Degree in a STEM field and 7 to 9 years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 11 to 13 years of relevant experience
- Expertise in applying RMF controls and implementation of STIGs and SCAP Benchmarks
- Recent experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (i.e. Windows 11), local group policies, and patching and upgrading
- Expertise with building Windows systems and troubleshooting IT hardware and software issues
- Highly motivated, detailed-oriented, and capable of working tasks efficiently
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, self-start with initiative, and bring energy and curiosity to challenges
- Ability to communicate and present technical details, both written and verbally
- Ability to work in an agile environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring regular use of ingenuity and creativity
- Ability to travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other location up to 15%
- Strong work ethic; Must be comfortable working in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift 40lbs unassisted
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access as required
- U.S. Citizenship required: Active DoD SECRET security clearance adjudicated within the past 5 years. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance
Preferred Experience:
- Current and active DoD Top Secret security clearance highly desired
- Basic networking (routing/switching/ VLANS/firewalls/protocols) hardware and configuration
- Linux OS (RHEL, Ubuntu, Fedora) operation and configuration
- Docker/Podman container environment integration
- Working in Special Access Programs Facilities (SAP-F) and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)
