JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President, Human Resources (VPHR) provides strategic leadership across all human resources functions across SCIS, driving organizational change, workforce development, and operational excellence. This role serves as a trusted advisor and coach to SCIS business and functional leadership, partnering closely with business operations.

The VPHR leads and integrates a multi-disciplinary HR function, providing direct oversight across key areas including Talent Acquisition and Talent Development, Benefits and Compensation, HRIS and Risk Management. This role is accountable for aligning people strategies with business objectives, ensuring that all HR functions operate cohesively to support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and a strong employee experience.

Success in this role requires a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution. The VPHR must be adept at building scalable processes while remaining flexible and responsive to evolving business needs. Strong business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize effectively are critical, as resources are often limited and demands are broad. Ideal candidates are Culture builders, experienced tacticians and can ensure the business is positioned to attract, develop, and retain top talent while navigating growth and change effectively.

Core Duties Include:
  • Implements human resources (HR) initiatives and best-demonstrated practices in conjunction with line management; collaborates with colleagues across the business unit and shared services to identify, develop and implement effective HR practices.
  • Using data-driven management approach, provides strategic HR insight into operational issues and goals.
  • Assists the Division President in developing the competencies of and improving the performance of employees within SCIS.
  • Develops and implements recruitment plans to address short- and long-term staffing requirements for Security Officers, specialized positions and administrative staff; serves as selection team leader for management openings.
  • Ensures that all company sites adhere to and comply with applicable company HR policies and EEO; prepares position statements and manages onsite reviews; conducts site-specific HR audits.
  • Provides interpretations of company policies and procedures in relation to all HR disciplines; guides field offices in the administration of pay, incentive and benefit programs, and in handling performance management issues and other employee relations matters.
  • Directs or provides initial investigation of and response to employment-related claims and charges; coordinates responses and actions with Employee Relations department.
  • Provides direction to HR Managers, Generalists and other positions within SCIS regarding all HR matters; reviews, approves and processes HR action items across the business.
  • Directs and conducts training programs on topics including management skills, sexual harassment, selection, motivation, office productivity, performance management, diversity, and company policies and procedures.
  • May assist Region management in labor relations matters, sales and marketing efforts, and financial review of labor, incentive and benefit costs, as assigned; Directs the company's training and development activities.
  • Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assignment.


  • Minimum Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

    Basic Qualifications
    • United States citizenship preferred
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Ability to acquire and maintain the required level of Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance. Must have a minimum of an active Interim Secret granted.
    • Ability to acquire and maintain any other specific special clearances/access requirements.
    • Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., pager or phone).
    • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
    • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.

    Education/Experience
    • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of progressively responsible, related exempt level experience involving various HR disciplines, and including multi-site responsibility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
    • Professional certification (SPHR) by HRCI desirable.
    • Multi-state experience is a must.

    Background Prerequisites

    Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements

    • I n-depth knowledge of effective human resources practices and legal/regulatory framework in a service industry environment.
    • Skill in directing, implementing and monitoring human resources policies and procedures in a multi-site organization.
    • Presentation and group facilitation skills, including adaptation to various audiences such as first line employees, management and customers.
    • Ability to analyze personnel and financial data and develop recommendations and solutions.
    • Strong customer and results orientation.
    • Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions.
    • Excellent planning, organizing and leadership/supervisory skills.
    • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
    • Ability to be an effective member of and lead project teams.

    • Skill in clear and concise oral and written communication.
