Principal System Safety Engineer
Location: Tucson, AZ
Required Clearance: Secret

Job Responsibilities:
- Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs.
- Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, or customer’s approved equivalent.
- Coordinating with customer safety representatives to gain safety approval from appropriate Safety Review Board authorities.
- Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
- Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.
- Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design analyses.
- Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process.
- Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards.
- Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program.
Required Skills:
- Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
- Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems.
- Experience with DoD System Safety Programs.
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development.
- Ability to solve complex problems by leveraging available resources and research material.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel.
Desired Education:
Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
