ISP Planner – BICSI Certified (Secret Cleared):
TEKsystems is seeking a BICSI-certified, DoD Secret-cleared ISP Planner to support network
and infrastructure modernization efforts for U.S. Marine Corps installations in Okinawa,
Japan. In this role, you will work on-site with government personnel to conduct site surveys,
validate infrastructure schematics, and plan fiber and copper cabling upgrades for new and
existing facilities. You will leverage BICSI standards, low-voltage cabling expertise, and
design tools (CAD and Microsoft Office) to produce accurate infrastructure plans that are
delivered to drafting and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct on-site surveys with government personnel to assess existing cabling and
infrastructure.
• Design and plan telecommunications spaces, data centers, and cable pathways for
Marine Corps facilities.
• Create and validate schematic drawings, blueprints, and infrastructure plans before
handoff to drafting teams.
• Ensure all designs and installations comply with BICSI, ANSI/TIA, NEC, and NFPA
standards.
• Plan and oversee installation of fiber and copper cabling, cable tray systems, grounding,
and support hardware.
• Coordinate with IT teams, vendors, and construction partners to manage schedules,
quality, and scope.
• Support infrastructure labeling, renovation planning, and capacity planning across
multiple buildings.
Required Qualifications:
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Valid BICSI Certification (one or more of the following): Installer Level II (Installer 2),
ITS Installer, ICT Technician, Field Installation Specialist, BICSI Technician (TECH), or
INSTF.
• 6+ years of Layer 1 experience with fiber and copper cabling architectures.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure standards and wiring best
practices.
• Hands-on experience with labeling projects, renovations, and infrastructure capacity
planning.
• Proven field experience conducting low-voltage cabling site surveys.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience in infrastructure or ISP planning roles.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into infrastructure designs.
• Familiarity with dashboarding or reporting related to infrastructure environments.
