Job Description
SITEC Consulting is seeking motivated Junior and Mid-level Windows / Linux / VMware System Administrators to support a mission-focused government software hosting facility. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who enjoy hands-on technical work across physical servers, virtual environments, operating systems, networking, security compliance, and customer support.
In this role, you will help deploy, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot critical infrastructure supporting a variety of customer missions. The ideal candidate is technically curious, comfortable working in a secure government environment, and eager to contribute to system reliability, security posture, and long-term infrastructure improvements.
What You'll Do
As a System Administrator, you will support day-to-day operations, maintenance, and engineering activities across Windows, Linux, VMware, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities may include:
Deploying and maintaining physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including virtual machines and containers
Performing routine maintenance, configuration changes, and troubleshooting across servers, workstations, and IT equipment
Installing, configuring, and supporting hardware and software in a secure enterprise environment
Managing system backups, disaster recovery planning, user accounts, and permissions
Deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting software applications
Supporting customers by resolving technical issues and providing guidance on best practices
Maintaining documentation, including knowledge base articles, incident response actions, system configurations, and administration procedures
Securing information systems and applications in accordance with current DoD guidance
Supporting RMF compliance activities, including scanning, STIG execution, remediation tracking, and routine security reporting
Maintaining system configuration and security posture through continuous monitoring
Participating in project planning and execution using Agile methodologies
Providing networking support for on-premises infrastructure, including virtual networking environments
Required Qualifications
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Ability to start with an interim Top Secret, if applicable
U.S. Citizenship required
4-8 years of hands-on experience with the following:
Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux system administration
Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance activities
Hands-on experience with security scanning, STIG execution, vulnerability remediation, or related security hardening activities
CompTIA Security+ certification
Windows or Linux operating system certification
Familiarity with Linux operating systems and virtual networking concepts
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer support skills
Desired Skills

Networking fundamentals and on-premises infrastructure support
