Senior Systems Engineer

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to provide enterprise systems engineering, digital engineering, and modeling and simulation (M&S) support across the Missile Defense Agency's Chief Digital Office (CDO). This position supports one or more CDO mission areas - including Digital Innovation, Digital Development, the Next Generation Software Office, the Next Generation M&S Office, and the National Integrated Air & Missile Defense Center (NIC) - all of which focus on modernizing MDA's digital ecosystem and accelerating capability delivery.

The selected engineer will leverage MBSE methods to enable digital transformation, integrate complex system architectures, support advanced M&S environments, and contribute to analysis, integration, automation, and experimentation activities that advance MDA's strategic digital objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Contribute as a key team member to the development, integration, and maintenance of model-based system architectures that enable digital engineering, advanced M&S, and modernization activities across the CDO.
• Translate complex system, software, and M&S needs into structured MBSE artifacts that enhance traceability, decision-making, and technical clarity.
• Perform systems engineering activities including requirements analysis, architecture definition, digital workflow alignment, and technical risk identification.
• Support the evolution and integration of digital pipelines, tools, and model-driven engineering environments to improve interoperability and mission readiness.
• Contribute to planning and execution of technical reviews, integration activities, experiments, and digital engineering events, providing model-based insights and analysis.
• Engage with cross-functional teams, technical stakeholders, and leadership to communicate engineering outcomes and ensure alignment with strategic digital objectives.
• Maintain configuration control and quality of MBSE artifacts, data, and digital engineering documentation throughout the system lifecycle.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• US citizenship and a Secret level clearance is required
• 10-15+ years of systems engineering experience with substantial MBSE leadership responsibilities.
• Expertise with Cameo/MagicDraw or equivalent MBSE toolsets.
• Experience supporting digital engineering, M&S, software integration, or system-of-systems architectures in DoD or MDA environments.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across multidisciplinary teams.
• Must be able to support on site requirements
