Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Communications Network Engineer to support a contract with a DoD customer. This position involves supporting enterprise network infrastructure and ensuring reliable, secure communications across complex environments. This position is onsite in North Chicago, Illinois, supporting mission-critical operations across multiple sites and users.

Responsibilities for the Communications Network Engineer include:
- Evaluate communication hardware and software to ensure optimal network performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Local Area Networks (LAN), Base Area Networks (BAN), and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
- Administer and maintain LAN/BAN/WAN environments, ensuring uptime and operational efficiency
- Coordinate and schedule network conversions and cutovers with stakeholders and site personnel
- Collaborate with users, engineers, and cross-functional teams to support network operations
- Perform configuration, integration, and testing of complex, large-scale network systems
- Support implementation and maintenance of secure network architectures in compliance with federal standards
Required Qualifications for the Communications Network Engineer include:
- 4+ years of experience in network engineering or administration
- Active Secret clearance required
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field of study
- Hands-on experience with LAN/BAN/WAN technologies and network troubleshooting
- Experience with configuring and integrating large-scale, enterprise-level networks
- Strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and performance optimization
- Must possess an IAT Level II certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE
- Must hold an OEM network certification such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Compensation for the Communications Network Engineer:
- Salary Range: 60,000-72,500 (based on experience)
