Job Description
Gridiron IT is seeking an iData System Engineer - Senior to support a federal program in Washington, DC.
Supervise, coordinate and/or design, develop and perform additions and changes to network hardware, infrastructure server environments, and operating systems, and attached devices, including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software. Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems. Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols. Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks. Perform systems management and integration functions. Exhibiting proficiency with virtualization technologies and network administration. Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP. Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by the government. Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems. Perform systems management and integration functions. Responsible for design, deployment, evaluating, testing, certification, patching, addressing interoperability issues, not only of the base storage & backup system, but for all features, components, and application dependencies. Ensures systems are current with approved patches and assists with certification and system accreditation tasks, composes SOPs, and Quick Reference guides for users. Provides toplevel technical expertise responsible for design and development of a client/server environment. Develops strategy of client/server system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy. Advises on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development. Sets standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization. Advises of feasibility of potential future projects to management.
Responsible for the design, development, testing, and management of the application development projects in support of IT infrastructure. This includes the programmatic integration of third-party components, the introduction of new custom capabilities, modification of existing code, process improvement recommendation, and automation of operations and maintenance tasks. Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy applications at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics. Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for all solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance. Duties include technical project milestone reviews, code architecture sessions, resource estimation, and development best practices knowledge transfer.
Must Have
on prem experience, SQL, IIS, ASP .NET understanding and windows systems administration
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain system operations for an application and infrastructure across multiple environments including production, pre-production, and staging environments within the system accreditation boundary.
Coordinate, engage, with other agency technical entities such as ICAM for authentication, on-premises could for vSphere, and networks for F5 load balancer to support diagnostics for user access, and network route-ability for application operational optimization.
Maintain and manage primary and secondary operational on-prem cloud environments in coordination with on-premises cloud infrastructure to support primary and secondary failover site deployments and operations.
Manage existing and implement new application service accounts for REST API service consumption for external systems.
Experienced in Microsoft .NET computer software framework, AppFabric, web-based development using Model-View-Controller (MVC) and repository patterns, SharePoint Server, and FAST Search.
Provide customer and stakeholder support for quarterly application enhancements, new features, and bugfixes within Agile Release Train.
Provide end-user helpdesk and inquiry support for application data managers and end-users.
Qualifications:
Experience with managing and configuring IIS and IIS hosted applications
Proficiency at SQL server database querying, maintenance and performance tuning
Microsoft .NET, AppFabric, SharePoint Server, Model-View-Controller (MVC) web-based development, and FAST search experience
Knowledge of Web API, ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework ORM are desirable
General knowledge of and familiarity with source control (Git)
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $110,000 – $140,000(Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
