Job Description
Markon is seeking a Software Engineer Level 2 with a focus on UI/UX front-end development to support the design and delivery of intuitive, high-performance user interfaces for complex software systems to support the Fort Meade Customer. This role involves developing and enhancing applications that support data-intensive analytics, real-time processing, and business systems, while ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance front-end components for complex software systems based on documented requirements
- Design and implement intuitive, user-friendly UI/UX solutions
- Translate user requirements into functional and visually effective front-end designs
- Collaborate with backend developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions
- Review and test software components to ensure adherence to design requirements and document results
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and usability issues
- Apply appropriate software development methodologies and front-end best practices
- Contribute to system design, including considerations for usability, performance, and scalability
- Support software reuse and evaluate COTS/GOTS solutions where applicable
- Perform requirements analysis and contribute to system-level and component-level design
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience in UI/UX and front-end development
- Proficiency in modern front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar)
- Experience developing applications for data-intensive or real-time systems
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices
- Understanding of system design, performance optimization, and usability principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
