Position Overview
Seeking a highly organized, goal-oriented Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of complex navigation and defense systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring systems meet stringent performance, cost, and schedule requirements in a fast-paced defense environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of defense systems in compliance with performance and specification requirements
Translate customer and product requirements into total system solutions and lower-level requirements
Perform functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition
Develop and maintain system artifacts such as block diagrams and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Conduct hardware and software integration testing in laboratory and range environments
Execute and support system verification and validation activities
Participate in or lead technical reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and Stage Gate reviews
Identify and manage system-level technical, schedule, and cost risks
Ensure compliance with applicable defense industry standards and regulations
Provide support for integration and test events, including periodic travel
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM field
6+ years of systems engineering experience within the defense or aerospace industry
Experience working in rapid development environments
Proficiency across the full requirements lifecycle, including development, management, and configuration control
Experience collaborating across multi-discipline teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, GNC, Manufacturing, Operations)
Experience with integration, test, verification, and validation activities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Desired Qualifications
Experience integrating GPS/GNSS receivers and navigation subsystems into aircraft or similar platforms
Understanding of GPS/GNSS hardware including antennas, RF cabling, signal receivers, and keying requirements
High-level understanding of navigation system architectures and GPS data utilization
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as SysML or Cameo
Configuration management experience
