Job Description
TEKsystems is seeking a Data Center Technician with a Secret Clearance or higher to support a 3 week travel project. Candidates can sit anywhere in the continental United States and will travel to data centers in Layton, UT, Oklahoma City, OK, and Mechanicsburg, PA. This position will incur 120 hours of work. This project will start May 18th.
Job Description
The project involves the setup of four Data Center Edge Stamps at three specific locations. The Edge Stamps will consist of four network equipment racks, racked network hardware, and supporting cables. Technicians will unpackage and install all racks, network hardware, and cabling per provided specification
Required Skills
- 2 or more years of experience installing hardware in a data center
- Secret Clearance or higher
General tasks:
a. Install, de-install, re-install, and move racks, components, and equipment as required.
b. Install patch cables.
c. Install blanking panels and brush panels as needed.
d. Remove and replace defective equipment.
e. Install optics into devices.
f. Provide troubleshooting and repair functions as necessary within the scope of this SOW.
g. Participate in all required safety and manufacturer certification training and Site-specific training.
h. Provide all personal and team-required tools and equipment.
9. Device cabling services provided by the Supplier:
a. Install cable including copper 4-pair, multi-pair, and fiber optic cable.
b. Dress, terminate and label copper and fiber optic cable.
c. Install ancillary equipment such as racks, cabinets, patch panels, etc. as part of the cabling projects.
d. Update all documentation, per site specification.
e. Provide troubleshooting and repair functions as necessary within the scope of this SOW.
Rack deployment services:
a. Uncrating and un-palletizing racks.
b. Rolling racks from dock to equipment colocation room
c. Placing racks on tile.
d. Dropping the feet on the racks.
e. Grounding the racks.
f. Labeling the racks with tile location
