Job Description
Are you a results-driven, team-oriented leader? This is the opportunity for you! As a Project Manager II, you are responsible for managing a project from design to release for customers, monitoring the project from initiation through delivery and program closeout . You will develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables; identify needed resources for projects; and interface with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters as needed.
For this role your focus will be on the manufacturing and production aspects of projects, particularly supporting the integration of leading edge communications connectivity products on various aircraft. Future projects may include a variety of aircraft capability enhancements and modernization. You will coordinate between engineering, management, and production teams to execute production projects efficiently and effectively. You may need to engage with multiple stakeholders and production locations throughout the week, but you'll primarily be co-located with the operations team on the hangar floor during the production portion of the project life-cycle.

Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects or a larger project, overseeing all phases from proposal development to project closeout. Assist Program Manager in detailed planning and effective execution of the production effort
- Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, and identify appropriate resources
- Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Interface with internal and external employees or customers on technical and production matters
- Collaborate heavily with the Material Planner, Quality Manager and Operations Manager to perform detailed production schedule planning; establishing relationships between tasks, material "need by" dates, the production critical path, and key production milestones representative of the program's Integrated Master Plan (IMP)/ Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Remain agile and flexible to adapt to frequent changes in project requirements or scope
- Track progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators
- Direct production effort to meet cost and schedule goals
- Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project performance, health and status
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field.
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience is required.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a complex project with multi-function team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills & capability to meet schedules.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Familiarity with Manufacturing or Production processes. For example: basic understanding of supply chain, material management, quality engineering, and design integration
- Familiarity with production across various phases of the product development life-cycle. For example: prototyping through mass production OR first article development through low-rate initial production (LRIP) and full-rate production (FRP)
- Familiarity with associated engineering roles for production, such as manufacturing engineering and liaison engineering
- Familiarity with estimates/budgets and managing projects to budgets
- Experience coordinating and managing high-performing teams
- Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Experience managing projects requiring Earned Value Management
- Experience with risk management planning, documentation, and mitigation
- Familiarity with government contracting and regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Experience creating resource plans and with basis of estimate development
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
