Job Description
The System Administrator role is responsible for working to ensure Atlassian Data Center is built and will scale to internal specifications, supported per best practices and internal procedures, and is managed appropriately so end users are supported. Within this role you will lead process implementation, integrate Atlassian with other internal applications, migrate content from decommissioning environments and systems to Atlassian, drive efficiencies for our team, and train end users on how to use the system as well as its export control functionalities.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Atlassian products, including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and various related tools
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for Atlassian product usage, including data management, security, and compliance
  • Integrate Atlassian products with other tools and systems, including third-party apps and plugins.
  • Provide training and support to users on Atlassian products, including best practices, troubleshooting, and feature adoption
  • Monitor Atlassian products for performance, security, and availability issues, and troubleshoot problems as needed
  • Provide technical support to users, including resolving issues, answering questions, and escalating complex problems to senior technical staff
  • Ensure Atlassian products are configured and used in accordance with company security and compliance policies, including data encryption, access controls, and auditing
  • Optimize Atlassian product performance, including tuning, caching, and other performance-enhancing techniques
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on Atlassian product usage, performance, and issues


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with Atlassian products, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • Experience working with Atlassian Data Center products, including installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Experience with integrating Jira and Confluence via APIs, webhooks, and plugins with other enterprise applications and systems
  • Conduct web application performance investigations and implement tuning measures to optimize Jira and Confluence responsiveness and throughput
  • Experience managing databases supporting Atlassian applications (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Prompt issue resolution with JIRA Projects and Confluence in coordination with other admins, partner teams and Atlassian premier support
  • Enforce security best practices, manage user access, and ensure compliance with internal and external IT policies
  • Proficient with Linux/Windows server environments and virtualization platforms
  • Certifications: Atlassian certifications, such as Certified Jira Administrator or Certified Confluence Administrator, are a plus
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, and automation tools
  • Experience with Air-Gapped Environments: Experience working in air-gapped environments or with similar security restrictions
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $107359 - $182510

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
