Duties
Help

• Write, revise, and execute medical logistics plans, procedures, and functional guides for emergency preparedness missions, essential tasks, and essential supporting activities.
• Develop innovative approaches to ensure equipment, medical maintenance, and supply chain management adheres to policies and initiatives and complies with standards.
• Assist supervisor in the development and approval of life cycle or procurement documentation for unprecedented requirements including analyses, justifications, performance requirements, and technical evaluations of contractor proposals.
• Conduct regular evaluations and formal in-process reviews to assess progress towards accomplishment of all project objectives.
• Perform a full range of project management functions across the core phases of project initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing.
• Coordinate supply accountability, supply distribution and other mainstream logistics and engineering support programs to support emergency preparedness and response.
• Participate and lead various forums, committees, and study groups engaged in implementing emergency preparedness and medical readiness support plans based on authoritative guidance.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing, coordinating, and evaluating the effectiveness of a variety of planning efforts related to the Military Health System medical logistics management; interacting with senior leaders about support requirements and project management issues; and analyzing existing and future logistics management support policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
