Duties
As a THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL OFFICER (TITLE 32), GS-2101-13, you will monitor and oversee the planning, organization, and supervision of all unit programs required by Air Force, Major Command, and ANG regulations in the training and employment of the force level Combat Operations Squadron.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : GS-13 LEVEL - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 12 months at the lower level GS-12, of experience experience, education, or training routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions; receiving, interpreting, extracting, and disseminating relevant data for mission planning or execution; experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : MUST possess specialized experience for the GS-13 Level, which includes experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

- Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation and monitoring expenditures.
- Establish or implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, or procedures in conjunction with members, organization officials, or staff members. Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
- Review performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify areas needing reduction or improvement.
- Confer with personnel, such as management, quality control, customer, or workers' representatives, to coordinate work activities, resolve employee grievances, or identify and review resource needs.
- Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures.
- Participate in management decisions impacting purchase and use of computer hardware, software, and training programs.
- Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, operations, or related activities to reduce or eliminate accidents and incidents.
- Identify principals and requirements to all personnel management actions and decisions ensuring all personnel are treated in a manner free of discrimination.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement. - Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- TOP SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED AT TIME OF ONBOARDING.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- PCS expenses may be authorized.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
- The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
- The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
- The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
- The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
- The FIFTH area of consideration will be U.S. Citizens.
