Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking candidates to fill engineering co-op roles within our Payload and Ground Systems department in Rolling Meadows, IL. As the Engineering Co-op (Space Payloads), you will work under the close direction of senior staff on the design, implementation, and testing of various payload features.

All of our engineering co-ops require candidates to be on-site at our Rolling Meadows, IL facility for the duration of the co-op.

Required Qualifications:

• Two years of coursework in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
• Basic understanding of simple embedded systems such as Arduino and its applications.
• Experience using MSOffice tool suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Must be US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C/C++.
• Experience with MATLAB.
• Experience with CAD Software such as ProE, Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor/TinkerCAD
• Basic understanding of FPGAs, Digital Logic, and VHDL.
• Basic knowledge of digital circuits, embedded microcontrollers, analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, DSPs, FPGAs, and other digital components.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
