Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking Senior MBSE Systems Engineers (Levels 3-6) to support advanced aerospace programs in St. Louis, MO. The Senior MBSE Systems Engineer will lead system architecture, integration, and digital engineering efforts for complex aircraft and mission systems. This role will be onsite in St. Louis, MO and requires an active Secret clearance!
Responsibilities of the Senior MBSE Systems Engineer (Levels 3-6):
• Lead system architecture development and decomposition using MBSE methodologies (SysML, Cameo, MSOSA)
• Define system functions, interfaces, and requirements across complex, multi-domain systems
• Perform requirements analysis, allocation, and interface management within MBSE frameworks
• Lead system integration, verification, validation (V&V), and certification planning efforts
• Conduct architecture trade studies and support key technical decisions impacting system design
• Drive implementation of MBSE within a broader digital engineering ecosystem
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering teams
• Present architecture solutions, tradeoffs, and recommendations to stakeholders and program leadership
• Support advanced R&D programs involving aircraft, autonomy, and mission systems
Qualifications of the Senior MBSE Systems Engineer (Levels 3-6):
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field
• 5-15+ years of systems engineering experience depending on level
• Strong hands-on experience with MBSE methodologies, SysML, and tools such as Cameo or MSOSA
• Experience with system architecture, requirements management, integration, and V&V
• Background supporting aerospace or defense programs (e.g., advanced R&D, aircraft systems) preferred
• Experience leading engineering efforts or owning architecture decisions (Level 4+)
• Strong understanding of digital engineering ecosystems and model-based workflows
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Active Secret clearance required
Compensation for the Senior MBSE Systems Engineer (Levels 3-6):
$135,000 - $200,000+ annually based on experience
