SOSi is seeking an HVAC Technician Supervisor who will be responsible for the oversight, operation, maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across assigned sites. This position ensures optimal climate control, energy efficiency, and system reliability to support mission requirements. Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
- Comply with all Environmental & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of HVAC technicians and support staff in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handlers, cooling towers, and associated control systems.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs for all HVAC equipment to ensure maximum system uptime and efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve complex HVAC system malfunctions and performance issues.
- Monitor Building Automation System (BAS) for HVAC-related alarms and performance metrics; coordinate with BAS technicians as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations including OSHA, NFPA, and manufacturer specifications.
- Schedule personnel, including shifts and rotations, to maintain acceptable levels of service at all times, including support of short-notice projects.
- Inspect and audit in-process and completed work to ensure work meets SOO and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and system modifications.
- Prepare and submit reports on HVAC system performance, energy consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate as needed on HVAC-related projects and system integrations.
- Manage inventory of HVAC parts, tools, and equipment; coordinate procurement as needed.
- Train and mentor HVAC technicians and local national staff on proper procedures, safety protocols, and technical skills.
- Respond to emergency HVAC system failures and coordinate rapid response to restore services.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Active Secret Government Security Clearance.
- Associates Degree in HVAC Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field; or at least 10 years of relevant experience in HVAC systems management in lieu of formal education.
- Ten (10) years of experience in HVAC systems operation, maintenance, and repair with a minimum of five (5) years in a supervisory capacity managing HVAC operations for large commercial, industrial, institutional, or government facilities.
- Must have a valid Journeyman or Master HVAC license from home of record or recognized jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of HVAC systems and operations for a comparable facility.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment including chillers (centrifugal, screw, and absorption types), boilers, air handling units, cooling towers, pumps, and associated controls.
- Knowledge of refrigeration cycles and HVAC load calculations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA regulations.
- Understanding of energy management principles and practices for HVAC systems.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and work order management.
- Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and direct digital controls (DDC).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
- Expert computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.

- Good verbal and written communication skills to direct employees, prepare reports for upper management and facilitate/disseminate information.

- Full-time position with standard working hours; may require occasional evening or weekend work.
