Work You'll Do
The client builds and maintains sustainable facilities, delivers utilities, and services, and provides expeditionary combat force capabilities. The client requires facilities under its command and the facility related controls systems (FRCS) in them to be interconnected to properly provide Technical Management, Continuous Monitoring, and an End-to-End (E2E) Cyber Defense capabilities to the client's Facilities Engineering Commands. The Control Systems Platform Enclave version 3 (CSPEv3) has been identified as the networking platform these systems will connect to and requires location specific integration for each of the designated control systems that will be connected.
An ideal candidate for this position will have experience with system administration, Storage, Windows, and Linux operating systems (OS), and filesystem structures. The role will emphasize design, implementation, administration, and sustainment of enterprise storage environments supporting mission-critical systems. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining secure, resilient, and high-performing storage infrastructure across classified and unclassified environments, ensuring availability, compliance, and operational readiness. This role requires strong technical depth in storage platforms, backup and recovery, performance tuning, cybersecurity hardening, and documentation within a federal environment.
Knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies, including VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Suite, and VMware Aria is beneficial as well. This role requires a familiarity with security frameworks and industry standards like NIST SP 800-82 Rev. A, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS Controls, DoD 8500.01, etc. The Systems engineer should also be familiar with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, and vulnerability scanners i.e. Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
Desired Skills
o Engineer, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and direct-attached storage environments.
o Support installation, integration, and lifecycle management of storage hardware, software, and associated management tools.
o Monitor storage capacity, utilization, availability, and performance; recommend and implement improvements to optimize reliability and efficiency.
o Perform storage provisioning, LUN masking, zoning, replication, snapshots, backup integration, and disaster recovery support.
o Troubleshoot storage, connectivity, latency, and data protection issues across servers, virtualized platforms, and network infrastructure.
o Implement and maintain backup, restore, archival, and recovery capabilities in alignment with mission and continuity requirements.
o Apply cybersecurity and system hardening requirements in accordance with client policies, including STIGs, RMF controls, and vulnerability remediation.
o Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, configuration baselines, diagrams, inventory records, and change records.
o Support system patching, upgrades, testing, and migration activities with minimal mission impact.
o Coordinate with system administrators, network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, vendors, and government stakeholders to resolve issues and execute planned changes.
o Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, continuity planning, and after-action reporting as needed.

Qualifications
Required:
o Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
o 5+ years of experience in Everpure/Pure Storage
o Experience with VMware cloud Foundation, vSphere, ESCi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Suite, and VMware Aria
o Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
o Active Secret security clearance required
o Ability to be located in Norfolk, VA 3-5x per week
Preferred:
o Experience in various operating systems: Windows (Server 2019, 2022, Windows 10, Windows 11), Red Hat Linux (RHEL), etc.
o Experience with Active Directory Management including User Management, Group Policies Multi-domain integration, VMware Virtualization Technologies
