Job Description
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including test instructions, workflow definitions, labor estimates, and designs for test fixtures or tooling.
- Develop and execute test strategies, procedures, and plans to validate performance at both the product and system level.
- Support production teams by troubleshooting test and process issues, implementing engineering updates, and ensuring test equipment remains operational.
- Assess nonconforming hardware, lead root‑cause investigations, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze test data to identify trends, resolve performance deviations, and confirm compliance with technical requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to define test requirements and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Contribute to product qualification, certification, and compliance efforts in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Present test results, technical findings, and improvement recommendations to internal teams and external partners.
- Identify opportunities to enhance test processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
- Ensure all testing activities follow safety, environmental, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- At least 5 years of experience in test engineering, validation, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of electronic test systems, production test methods, and manufacturing test environments.
- Hands‑on experience with data acquisition systems, test instrumentation, and analysis tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Python.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues using structured analytical methods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Active and transferable Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical area.
- Experience supporting test and validation activities in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a production‑driven environment.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practices.
- Ability to interpret test requirements, schematics, and system documentation for troubleshooting and validation.
- Hands‑on experience working with electronic assemblies and test hardware.
- Working knowledge of RF principles including signal behavior, modulation, attenuation, and propagation.
- Experience testing or analyzing RF components such as antennas, filters, amplifiers, receivers, or transmitters.
- Understanding of spectrum usage, frequency bands, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Experience performing RF test methods such as signal integrity analysis, noise characterization, and power measurements.
- Proficiency with RF lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
- Exposure to RF applications in communications, radar, or satellite systems.
- Understanding of grounding, shielding, and thermal considerations in electronic systems.
- Experience supporting repair or sustainment activities involving government‑furnished equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, statistical analysis tools (e.g., SPC), and manufacturing or product data systems.
