Model Based Systems Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to support a company focused on developing next-generation, force-multiplying aircraft within the defense and aerospace industry. This position is 100% on-site in St. Louis, MO. The Model Based Systems Engineer will support and lead systems engineering efforts using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to define, integrate, and deliver complex aerospace systems. Responsibilities for the Model Based Systems Engineer include:

• Supporting and leading system architecture development and decomposition using MBSE tools (SysML/Cameo) to define functions, interfaces, and allocations across multiple domains
• Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to develop system designs and support technical and program design reviews
• Implementing MBSE within a broader digital engineering ecosystem across the program lifecycle
• Performing systems engineering activities including requirements decomposition, trade studies, system analysis, interface management, and risk management
• Supporting verification, validation, certification planning, and system integration while capturing artifacts within the MBSE model

Required Qualifications for the Model Based Systems Engineer include:

• 0-5 years of systems or related engineering experience
• Experience with MBSE tools and methodologies, including SysML and Cameo/MSOSA
• Background in systems engineering disciplines such as requirements development, functional decomposition, system design, analysis, verification, and validation
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required; clearance sponsorship available)

Compensation for the Model Based Systems Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $80,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
