Job Description

Red Canyon Technologies is seeking a Project Engineer for a remote position supporting the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC) High Speed Systems Test (HSST) program and the Centralized Test & Evaluation Investment Program (CTEIP) Program Management Office at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold AFB, TN.

The role has primary responsibility for the technical success of Test & Evaluation (T&E) technology development and test projects for the SkyRange program, a UAS-based range utilizing RQ-4 Global Hawk and MQ-9 Reaper systems to gather flight test data for hypersonic missile flight tests and other TRMC needs. The Project Engineer will also collaborate with the management team on contracting, scheduling, and financial management aspects of project management.

*This position is contingent upon contract award.*

Responsibilities

  • Supporting development of new ground test, flight test, instrumentation, and analysis technologies and test techniques
  • Supporting planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of dynamic flight test and evaluation
  • Assisting in independent engineering analysis in support of design validation and technical issue resolution
  • Providing technical support to integrated product teams (IPTs) during the development of novel UAS sensor technologies
  • Supporting field installation and/or operational test activities as required
  • Coordinating requirements, plans, and analysis objectives with internal and external test customers
  • Assisting in the preparation of detailed test plans
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on ground test facility and/or flight test performance and delivery of final, validated data to customers
  • Assisting in the identification and resolution of design and operational deficiencies
  • Working with other support staff to manage cost and schedule and prepare monthly status reports of technical, financial, and schedule performance
  • Tracking execution and notifying leadership of technical issues
  • Supporting Government, industry, and academia working groups on emerging aerodynamic ground test and evaluation of specialized technical areas of interest
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in engineering, planning, conducting, and/or analyzing test programs
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering or an appropriate related discipline
  • Current Secret security clearance
  • Unwavering attention to detail, exemplary work ethic, and grace under pressure
  • Ability to build positive relationships with coworkers, customers, and executing organizations
  • Mastery of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellence in oral communication, technical writing, and presentation preparation


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the development or use of mechanical system drawings, P&IDs, configuration management tools, maintenance training, and interface control documents
  • Experience supporting the generation of contract documents such as cost estimations and Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Expertise with AutoCAD, MATLAB, Python, and computational analysis tools
