Summary: This position aim is to provide research, data analysis, and training support to the NGB-J5 J (J55). Location for this work will be on site at the NGB TARC Arlington, VA.

- Serve as Task Lead
- Conduct research and analyze information for NGB-J5-J
- Participate in Three-Star and Four-Star Reviews; OPSDEPS, and Russia and China Strategic Initiatives
- Participate in JCS Tank briefings; Resource Management, Management Action, SECDEF Large, and Strategy Steering Groups; and Global Posture Executive Committee
- Deliver analytical products and briefing inputs
- Provide analysis of discussion topics
- Provide real-time Joint Working Group support to NGB J5-J (J55) led or attended working groups supporting the NG Joint Staff, Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Chief’s Action Group and the Judge Advocate
- Provide meeting and briefing preparations and materials as well as take notes and conduct accurate recording of issues, concerns/requests
- Establish and maintain relationships with interagency and NGO partners and communicate at a minimum with the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency
- Conduct strategic research and analysis including background research, strategic estimates, strategic guidance assessments and data analysis to inform the NGB-J5-J (J55)
- Analyze guidance, documents, senior leader meetings and working groups relevant to the Joint Strategic Planning System (JSPS)
- Perform comparative analysis of documents, ensure all documents and summaries adhere to NGB Joint Staff correspondence standards
- Describe potential operational or planning impacts on the National Guard on the observed differences between prior and current versions of analyzed documents
- Participate in working groups and provide analysis of Plans Development, Large Scale Global Exercises, and Strategic activities integration encompassing; Global Campaign Plans, Functional Campaign Plans, Consolidated Strategic Opportunities, Global Posture and Joint Doctrine
- Provide analysis of policy statements, speeches, and publications made by Government officials evaluating impact on National Guards interests within JSPS
- Conduct general research, strategic document tracking and review and impact analysis and reporting
- Perform plan development and review functions for the NGB-J5-J (J55)
- Provide analysis of discussion topics, collect and assess State Integrated Support Plan (ISPs)
- Assist with evaluating State ISPs by participating in NGB-sponsored wargaming and related workshops or events
- Provide monthly status reports and trip reports
Required Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of Strategic Plans Experience
- Master’s Degree Preferred
- 5 years of Project Management experience
- Top Secret (TS)/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligible
- Deep knowledge of NG plans and operations
- Joint Staff skill identifier
- Completed Command & General Staff College (CGSC) / Intermediate Level Education (ILE), War College or equivalent
