Description

Leidos is seeking a Director of Growth to lead expansion in the Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) mission area within the Defense Systems Sector. This role focuses on advancing sensor-driven, software-enabled CUAS solutions through systems integration, digital engineering, and rapid capability delivery.

The selected leader will shape and capture strategic opportunities across the U.S. Army, Joint community, and Combatant Commands, translating emerging threats—particularly Group 1–3 UAS and swarming systems—into scalable, mission-ready capabilities.

This position is based in Huntsville, AL, a critical hub for air and missile defense, Army modernization, and sensor development activities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead development and execution of a CUAS growth strategy aligned to Leidos’ strengths in systems integration, AI/ML, and sensor fusion
  • Identify, qualify, and shape opportunities across Army Futures Command, CCDC, PEO Missiles & Space, RCCTO, JCO, and Combatant Commands
  • Drive early customer engagement and requirements shaping, influencing concepts, CONOPS, and pre-program activities
  • Lead capture of strategic pursuits, including win strategies, competitive positioning, and teaming approaches
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to deliver integrated CUAS architectures across radar, RF, EO/IR, C2, and analytics layers
  • Advance solutions leveraging open architectures, digital engineering, and rapid prototyping pathways (OTA, DIU, AFWERX)
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior operational, requirements, and acquisition leaders
  • Inform IRAD and internal investments in areas such as counter-swarm, autonomous detection, and sensor fusion
  • Represent Leidos at customer engagements, industry days, and executive briefings

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience in defense growth, operations, or capability development within CUAS, IAMD, or air defense domains
  • Demonstrated expertise in Counter-UAS (Group 1–3), SHORAD, and integrated air defense systems
  • Experience shaping or leading large-scale defense portfolios and modernization efforts ($1B–$10B+)
  • Strong understanding of sensor technologies and integration (radar, RF detection, EO/IR, passive sensing)
  • Proven ability to influence requirements, acquisition pathways, and senior DoD stakeholders
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Army capability development and AROC processes
  • Background supporting INDOPACOM or other COCOM-level IAMD/CUAS strategy
  • Familiarity with rapid acquisition pathways and prototyping organizations (e.g., RCCTO, DIU, JCO)
  • Experience integrating directed energy, non-kinetic effects, and advanced sensing technologies
  • Prior military service with leadership at battalion level or above
  • Advanced degree (War College, MMAS, MBA, or technical discipline)
