The MITRE Intelligence Center is seeking a Mission Operations Senior Technical Advisor for the IC Enterprise Operations Department (N924) within the National Intelligence Directorate (NID), located at MITRE's McLean campus. The IC Enterprise Operations Senior Technical Advisor serves as the senior technical authority for mission operations and enterprise integration in support of N924's anchor Project (IC CIO & CFO). Reporting to the Department Manager, this role ensures that N924's work is operationally grounded, technically rigorous, and tightly aligned to mission outcomes across the Intelligence Community.
As a trusted mission expert, the Senior Technical Advisor provides strategic and technical guidance on the integration of analytic, operational, and enterprise capabilities supporting ODNI information and financial offices. The role strengthens MITRE's impact as an independent, objective advisor on high-consequence mission challenges by ensuring that operational concepts, integration strategies, and technical approaches are aligned to real-world mission demands.
In addition to supporting current programs, the Senior Technical Advisor advances the department's long-term mission operations capability by promoting consistent tradecraft, mentoring staff, and strengthening cross-mission integration approaches. The position is a deeply embedded technical leadership function focused on execution, integration, and measurable mission impact. Applicants will establish regular presence at ODNI and MITRE locations with staff supporting those organizations, and must have availability for travel on short notice as mission needs dictate.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Mission Operations Technical Leadership
- Serve as the senior technical authority within N924, ensuring operational relevance, analytic rigor, and enterprise alignment.
- Provide expert judgment on information or financial policies and practices
- Advise the Department Manager on mission risk, operational tradeoffs, and cross-enterprise coordination challenges.
- Strengthen MITRE's credibility as an independent advisor on high-consequence operational and integration challenges.
Mission Integration and Enterprise Coordination
- Guide integration of analytic, operational, and technical capabilities across ODNI Mission Centers and Intelligence Community partners.
- Support development of operational concepts, governance models, and coordination mechanisms that improve cross-mission effectiveness.
- Partner with Project Leaders to ensure mission-focused execution across planning, implementation, and assessment phases.
- Identify gaps in enterprise integration and recommend actionable approaches to improve mission synchronization.
Enterprise Collaboration and Technical Integration
- Build strong relationships across MITRE divisions and Intelligence Community stakeholders to enable coordinated mission support.
- Coordinate with Division-level technical leadership to align mission operations work with broader NID standards and priorities.
- Enable consistent mission integration practices while allowing flexibility for mission-specific needs.
Quality, Impact, and Workforce Development
- Lead technical and operational reviews to ensure quality, clarity, and mission relevance of deliverables.
- Promote disciplined mission integration tradecraft across the department.
- Mentor staff in operational analysis, mission integration, and enterprise coordination approaches.
- Help build a durable mission operations capability within N923 that supports long-term ODNI priorities.
Program and Mission Support
- Actively engage in N924's work program as a hands-on technical leader.
- Provide mission expertise in sponsor engagements, strategic planning sessions, and executive discussions.
- Ensure departmental efforts contribute directly to measurable mission outcomes and enterprise decision advantage.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, or 12 years with a master's degree, or 10 years with a PhD, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep experience supporting ODNI executive offices and community-wide enterprise functions.
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting either IC CIO or CFO offices, information security, data, and government budgeting and procurement practices.
- Proven ability to advise senior leaders on operational risk, integration tradeoffs, and enterprise-level mission impacts.
- Experience leading or guiding multidisciplinary teams in high-consequence mission environments.
- Strong communication skills, including ability to translate complex mission and operational challenges into clear, actionable guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries within the Intelligence Community.
- Active Top Secret SCI clearance with current CI Poly.
- U.S. Citizenship required
- This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience supporting ODNI Mission Centers focused on counterterrorism or counterintelligence.
- Experience designing or advising on mission integration frameworks, enterprise governance models, or cross-agency coordination mechanisms.
- Demonstrated ability to assess mission effectiveness and develop performance measures aligned to operational outcomes.
- Experience serving as a senior technical advisor to ODNI or other Intelligence Community leadership.
- Advanced graduate degree in intelligence studies, national security, engineering, public policy, international affairs, or related field.
- Advanced graduate degree in engineering, computer science, physical sciences, mathematics, intelligence studies, national security, or a related technical field.
