Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems' (NGMS) International Business Development team is seeking a Business Development Manager 3 to support the enterprise's international growth objectives.

The selected candidate will work out of our Linthicum, MD location with ability to hybrid telework. This position will be part of an interdisciplinary team responsible for business development operations in support of Northrop Grumman's international business portfolio and will report to the Sector International Business Development Director and have one direct report in turn.

This position requires a self-starter that helps bring out the best of the larger team. Core skills include critical/strategic thinking, organization, and attention to detail. In addition, the candidate must have a result driven attitude and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed and diverse locations, organizations and cultures.

The manager will be responsible for supporting wide-ranging global enterprise business development activities for the Sector International Business Development Director and sector international business development leads.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Provide Support to the Sector International Field Team
  • Support business operations for the international field team as needed.
  • Act as the primary POC on behalf of the field team for engagements, both internal and external, hosted at BWI and other US facilities
  • Execute major meetings and events for the international BD group, reviewing the agenda, preparing for and supporting engagements and post-interactions to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Anticipate and manage the materials, data and presentation needs for upcoming meetings and events.
  • Attend trade shows, engagements and internal events as required to support international field team.


Data and International Process Management
  • Work with divisions and field team to maintain the accuracy of our Salesforce Customer Relationship Management tool international pipeline entries.
  • Work with divisions and field team on the management of Commissioned Sales Representatives and consultants.
  • Produce and integrate materials to address data requests, reviews, and reporting across a variety of initiatives.
  • Manage the development, tracking, reporting, and forecasting of business development operational goals and activities.


Implementation of Strategic Initiatives
  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives and tasks initiated by the Director of International BD by working with divisions and functional teams across the sector.
  • Serve as the champion for Design for Exportability across the sector.
  • Coordinate international advocacy requests.
  • Coordinate international Mission Engineering efforts with divisions and Strategy function.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of relevant experience in Aerospace and Defense or a Master's Degree with 6 years of relevant experience in Aerospace and Defense.
  • Understanding of Technology Security and Foreign Disclosure (TSFD), Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) processes.
  • Demonstrated multi-disciplinary global business development, strategy development and/or capture experience.
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time).
  • Proven ability to create, compose and edit written materials, and to consolidate data from multiple sources into concise executive caliber summaries.
  • Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills and experience in Salesforce, Global Trust and EEMS or equivalents.
  • Strong proficiency in data manipulation and analytics, including identification, collection, processing and analyzing large volumes of data.
  • Proven ability to produce high quality work for executive audiences.
  • Ability to work requisite hours to support executive deadline in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to operate independently, dynamically manage priorities, and thrive in a multi-disciplinary, highly collaborative team environment.
  • High degree of organizational efficiency.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Current/Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a SAP clearance after starting.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree and 15 years of work experience in the defense/aerospace business, military, or national security enterprise.
  • 15+ years of work experience in U.S. and international defense requirements, processes, and customer needs.
  • Understanding of Northrop Grumman business priorities, strategy, capture resources, and key stakeholders.

Primary Level Salary Range: $167,500.00 - $251,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
