Join a high-impact team at Lockheed Martin MFC in Orlando, FL as a Technical Editor/Writer supporting the Sniper program. This 4-month contract offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with expert engineers to create clear, concise technical documentation. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and usability of essential publications for advanced electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
[Responsibilities]
- Write, edit, and organize technical documents, including procedure manuals, user guides, service manuals, operational specifications, and related publications.
- Acquire and verify technical content by interviewing subject matter experts, observing production methods, and reviewing engineering materials such as blueprints, schematics, and modification kits.
- Oversee the development of illustrative materials, including diagrams, charts, and Illustrated Parts Breakdown content.
- Manage the documentation process, from outline creation through on-time delivery, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct quality reviews of all published materials to maintain accuracy and clarity.
- Participate in project meetings, collaborating with cross-functional and virtual teams.
- Meet tight deadlines set by project schedules.
- May require occasional domestic travel.
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-6 years of professional technical writing/editing experience, or 2-4 years with a related Master's degree.
- Proficiency in acquiring and verifying complex technical content.
- Experience managing end-to-end technical documentation projects.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in XML authoring, MS Office Suite, MS Word, and Acrobat Authoring Tools.
- Skilled in writing clear, concise content for technical equipment publications.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.

- Product Life Cycle knowledge.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Background in Supply Chain and familiarity with NAVY regulations and Supply Chain operations.
- Experience working in Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
