Duties
Help
  • You will manage IP address, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
  • You will develop and document systems network administration standard operating procedures.
  • You will resolve hardware and network interface and interoperability issues.
  • You will troubleshoot internal and external network connectivity issues.
  • You will maintain and optimize network configuration.
  • You will monitor and implement information assurance patches.
  • You will manage the installation and integration of network fixes, updates, and enhancements.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 441, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
  • Experience administering and securing complex enterprise Cisco networks, including routers, switches (layer 2 & 3), and firewalls using Cisco IOS (including CLI) and Cisco ISE.
  • Experience managing modern network technologies like VLANs and SD-WAN, with deep knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), VPNs, IPsec and OSI model.
  • Experience with intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and performance monitoring tools (SolarWinds), Cisco Packet Tracer, applying STIGs, and developing technical documentation and presentations.
  • Experience planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Experience managing network infrastructure systems including information assurance applications such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems and LAN component configurations to support business processes while maintaining defense in depth security requirements.
