Duties
Help

• Responsible for planning, development, and execution of the Command's Operating Budgets (COB).
• Design, develop, and manage the implementation of Command funds budgetary policies, programs, and procedures.
• Promotes the elimination of fraud, waste and mismanagement in the government.
• Perform full range of supervisory duties and responsibilities.
• Manage the preparation, review, and revision of financial execution plans.
• Ensures that budgetary requirements are properly prioritized, balanced within and between programs, and justified.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• TDY travel requirement 5%.
• This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Certification Level 2: THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012.
• A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Analyze historical data to identify trends and to assess funding requirements. 2) Experience in formulating annual programs budget estimates. 3) Budget execution experience including monitoring and tracking program allocations, obligations, and expenditure of funds. 4) Identify problem areas, research to make determination and implement corrective courses of action. 5) Develop and recommend fund allocation procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
