Job Description

Duties
Help
  • Developing comprehensive exercise plans, including objectives, timelines, mission essential task list injects, participant roles, and resource requirements.
  • Providing technical understanding of cyberspace concepts and methods to be tested and contributing broad knowledge of DoD roles/responsibilities and challenges faced by participants, including operational-level cyber elements.
  • Conducting research and developing realistic exercise scenarios that simulate relevant workplace challenges, decision-making dilemmas, and strategic objectives.
  • Coordinating scenario development from employees, teams, and external partners to ensure representation from all relevant stakeholders.
  • Serving as Team Lead for exercise planning conferences/Joint Exercise Control Groups (JECGs), comprising various operational and functional specialists.
  • Conducting training sessions for exercise participants on exercise procedures, communication techniques, and other relevant topics.
  • Evaluating exercise performance against established objectives and criteria.
  • Analyzing feedback to identify areas for improvement and refine future exercises.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Incumbent must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft.
  • The incumbent may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by developing detailed planning, coordination, and/or execution of joint or service-level cyberspace operations; conducting in-depth research of realistic cyber challenges to develop complex scenarios that simulate strategic decision-making and align with training goals; leading joint exercise planning conferences and control groups to produce assigned elements of exercise plans and ensure effective training and implementation; and evaluating exercise performance against established objectives to identify lessons learned and provide recommendations for improving future exercise design and facilitation.
