AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

Area 1 = All permanent Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard.
Area 2 = All indefinite Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard.
First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. (All other Areas will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Candidates).
To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor.
Acceptance of any military technician position may cause the termination of entitlements and eligibility for all military bonuses and student loan repayments. For further information you must contact the appropriate military Education Office.
DUTIES:
As a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (D2575000), WG-6641-10, you will provide munitions support to the state and designated agencies in support of their taskings. This dual status technician position requires military membership.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
There is frequent standing, bending, and working in tiring positions, although there is occasional sitting down at test consoles or workbenches. It is required to lift, push or pull a variety of items weighing up to 100 pounds or heavier weights with assistance.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Works inside and outside; in inclement weather; on icy, wet, and slippery ramps and work stands; and in temperature and humidity extremes. Subject to dangers from exposure to toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, fast actuating metal aircraft surfaces such as landing gears, speed brakes, engine noise, heat blast, intake suction; explosive munitions; chemical munitions, electrical voltage, cartridge actuating devices; liquid oxygen, fire or explosion of aircraft fuels, lubricants, paints and solvents. Risk of cuts, bruises, scrapes, burns, respiratory irritation, explosions, and high voltage electrical shock. Wear of safety-toed boots, hearing, and eye protection is required.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience or training which has provided the candidate with the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year in the occupational series code 6641, or the equivalent EIGHTEEN (18) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as maintaining and repairing assigned missiles; operate, maintain, repair and calibrate missile test equipment; analyzing and isolating system component malfunctions; interpreting wiring diagrams and evaluating and analyzing technical documents and equipment specifications; receives, assembles, issues, identifies, inspects and stores conventional aerospace munitions; removes and replaces defective major components, connecting appropriate cables and maintaining and physical security of manual and automated document control records.

- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate SECRET security clearance within ONE (1) year of appointment.
- Proper protective equipment must be used to comply with safety standards.
- In order to qualify for above mentioned AFSC(s) you must comply with mandatory entry requirements contained in Air Force Enlisted Classification Directory (AFECD) or Officer Classification Directory (AFOCD), as applicable.
- Individual selected for this position who is not qualified in one of the mentioned AFSC, MUST submit to HRO, before date of appointment, the correct military paperwork/application to attend the technical training school required to be AFSC Qualified.
- If selectee fails to process the school application and does not successfully graduate from the school, he/she will be terminated from the technician program for failure to meet the compatibility standards and receive a 30 days notice of separation.
