Job Description

Duties
Help
  • Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist with responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating, managing, and executing the Institute's various logistics programs.
  • Oversee the Property Accountability Program.
  • Oversee the Clinical Engineering Department and the maintenance and repair of specialized medical and laboratory equipment.
  • Manage the organization's Freight and Fleet Programs.
  • Participate in the Controlled Medical Item Management Program by serving as the Institute's Registrant with the Drug Enforcement Agency.
  • Function as the Supply Chain Manager for acquisitions, serving as a Government Purchase Card Billing Official.
  • Perform contract management and surveillance to ensure contract requirements and performance metrics are being met, provides written and verbal feedback to contracting personnel.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirement.

Qualifications

USAMRICD is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP). The DJ-04 payband is equivalent to the GS-13 step 1 to GS-14 step 10 level. In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within this payband equivalent, may not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position. Future pay increases within the payband will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

(1) Experience leading an organization's logistics management functions such as procurement of materials, medical maintenance, or life cycle management of equipment;
(2) Experience evaluating medical logistics requirements for an organization such as changes in program objectives, analyzing data to identify deficiencies, or recommending improvements to optimize performance and procedures; AND
(3) Experience developing medical logistics processes and/or procedures for an organization.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DJ-03/GS-12).
