Basic Requirement for Research Psychologist:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with a major or equivalent in psychology.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes collecting and/or analyzing data from diverse sources; conducting research to evaluate the effectiveness of policies or operations for support programs serving Service members and their families; and analyzing data, research, metrics, or trends to develop recommendations and evidence-based solutions for policy and programs to support the military community. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. - Evaluate and analyze a broad range of data, research, programs, and metrics addressing the needs and challenges of Service members and their families.
- Research and coordinate evaluations of complex time-essential actions relating to the Military Community Advocacy policy areas, such as Family Assistance Program, Coordinated Community Response, and Child and Youth Advocacy.
- Collect, verify, transform and aggregate data from diverse sources in order to perform statistical analysis manually as well as through automated systems such as dashboards.
- Develop evidence-based recommendations and solutions to policy and programs supporting the military community, including implementation strategies for recommended actions resulting from analysis of data, research, metrics, and trends.
