Key Responsibilities
Track, control, and maintain service assets across the IT infrastructure lifecycle.
Collaborate with Configuration Analysts to train SACM staff on SACM principles, processes, and procedures.
Support the development and maintenance of SACM processes, including:
Configuration Item (CI) registration procedures
Access controls and privilege management
Definition of roles and responsibilities within SACM plans and procedures
Assist with procurement of IT assets when requested.
Work closely with SACM roles to tag, track, and document IT assets, including identifying asset locations and ownership.
Receive IT assets, ensure delivery to correct locations, and coordinate asset setup and teardown activities as required.
Propose and coordinate with the SACM Manager on CI naming conventions and unique identification standards.
Ensure developers and configuration system users comply with established identification standards.
Liaise with the Configuration Librarian to populate and maintain the Configuration Management System (CMS).
Perform configuration audits to verify consistency between physical inventories and the CMDB/CMS, initiating corrective actions through Change Control as needed.
Accept baselined products from third parties for distribution.
Build and maintain system baselines for promotion and release.
Maintain project status information, status accounting records, and reports.
Assist the SACM Manager with report definition and generation as required.
Maintain and reconcile databases related to software licenses, hardware warranties, and service agreements.
