The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base, CO is searching for a Lead Information System Security Manager to support MD4 (NH-2210-03, GS-12/13 equivalent).
Description:
Are you a visionary cybersecurity leader ready to defend our nation's critical assets in the contested space domain? We are seeking a Lead Information Systems Security Manager to lead our cybersecurity efforts, providing expert guidance and strategic direction for vital space sustainment programs. In this role, you will serve as the senior technical authority on all matters of information security, shaping the policy and architecture that protects our most advanced weapon systems. As the lead ISSM, you will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated IT professionals, directing all phases of the cybersecurity lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal. Your daily requirements will include ensuring all systems are designed with robust security safeguards, assessing and mitigating vulnerabilities, and advising senior leadership on emerging threats and technologies. Specifically, the ideal candidate will possess:
Extensive Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of IT and cybersecurity principles, concepts, and methodologies. This includes expert knowledge of system architecture, integration techniques, testing methods, and system life cycle concepts (from research and development through acquisition and disposal).
Leadership and Management Experience: Demonstrable ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a technical team. They must be capable of supervising personnel, managing workloads, and developing performance standards.
Financial & Acquisition Acumen: Knowledge of budgetary processes, cost-benefit analysis, and contractual procedures. The candidate must be able to prepare persuasive budget recommendations and provide technical oversight on acquisitions and contracts.
Strategic Vision: The ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how these changes can be leveraged to meet the organization's future requirements. They must be able to evaluate emerging technologies and integrate them into existing architecture.
Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written. The candidate must be able to clearly and concisely communicate technical information, strategic recommendations, and program progress to subordinates, senior management, and external contractors.

- Must be a U.S Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
- This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
- Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- PCS / Relocation funding is authorized.
- Subject to TDY 20 days per year.
- Will attain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certification applicable for cybersecurity functions required for the position held.
- This position has been designated for drug testing. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, "Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
- This position is designated a NON-CRITICAL APDP position.
