AI/ML Prototyping Developer

The AI / ML Prototyping Developer will design, develop, and test AI driven capabilities in support of a federal program. This role focuses on rapidly prototyping machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions, integrating models into secure data pipelines, and refining use cases in collaboration with technical and mission stakeholders. The ideal candidate has hands on experience working with multi modal data, developing custom AI agents, and operating in regulated environments such as the Department of Defense (DoD) or Financial Services. REMOTE position.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and test AI and machine learning prototypes to support mission focused use cases
• Develop, train, evaluate, and optimize machine learning models across structured and unstructured datasets
• Integrate AI/ML models into secure and scalable data processing pipelines
• Support ingestion, processing, and analysis of multi modal datasets (e.g., text, images, structured data) to identify patterns, trends, and key values
• Develop and customize AI agents tailored to defined use cases and regulatory constraints
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and stakeholders to refine requirements and evolve AI use cases
• Apply secure development practices and conduct code scanning and dependency analysis to support compliance requirements
• Document model design, assumptions, limitations, and performance results to support technical reviews and audits
Qualifications
• Clearance requirement: U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• 10 years of work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and training machine learning or AI models
• Hands on experience prototyping AI driven solutions in Python
• Familiarity with version control and collaborative development using Git
• Ability to work with SQL and relational or analytical data stores
• Experience integrating AI/ML models into automated or semi automated pipelines
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with AI solutions in a regulated industry (e.g., DoD, Financial Services, healthcare, or other compliance driven environments)
• Experience developing or customizing AI agents and agent based workflows
• Familiarity with AutoML tools and automated model experimentation techniques
• Exposure to model governance, explainability, and risk mitigation approaches

• Working with multi modal datasets to extract insights and patterns
• Python for AI/ML development and data processing
• Hugging Face libraries and models for NLP and multi modal use cases

o OWASP ZAP
o Bandit
o Semgrep
o Dependency scanning and analysis tools
• Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on AI/ML solutions
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders
• Ability to follow secure coding, data handling, and compliance standards in a federal environment
