Space Survivability/Radiation Effects Engineer Level 5
Location: El Segundo, CA | Hybrid (2 days onsite/week) | Contract | Active Secret Clearance Required

About the Role
Join Indotronix as a Space Survivability/Radiation Effects Engineer Level 5 and play a pivotal role in safeguarding next-generation space technology. You'll tackle complex challenges related to natural and man-made radiation environments across all phases of satellite programs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, influence mission-critical designs, and ensure survivability of systems in the harshest space environments.

Responsibilities

- Deliver expert guidance on nuclear radiation hardness for a diverse portfolio of space programs
- Analyze and document unit and vehicle-level responses to radiation effects, such as total dose, displacement damage, ELDRS, single event effects, internal charging, IEMP, SGEMP, and TREE
- Develop, plan, and execute tests at piecepart, unit, and vehicle levels to validate compliance with radiation-related requirements
- Interface with cross-functional teams to balance survivability, cost, weight, and technical risk
- Engage with program office representatives and system engineers to resolve radiation concerns
- Coordinate with national radiation test facilities to secure and advocate for necessary testing resources

Required Skills and Experience

- Minimum 14 years' experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- At least 10 years of direct experience in space environments or radiation effects
- Deep expertise in dose rate testing, total ionizing dose testing, displacement damage testing, and SEE testing of electronics
- Hands-on experience in prompt dose analysis of electronic units
- Proven track record supporting government contracts with nuclear effects environment requirements
- Active Secret Security Clearance

- Proficiency using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers
