Job Description
SAIC is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA)/Database Security Expert whose primary responsibility will be the safeguarding of databases from unauthorized access, ensuring data integrity, and implementing security measures, specifically, DISA STIGs. This is a critical role within the Enterprise Database (DB) team providing all aspects of database security across multiply database vendor, in particular, Oracle and MSSQL Server. The candidate is expected to perform administration, troubleshooting, vulnerability remediation, and operations functions for mission critical components for a federal government agency, the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). An ideal candidate will be able to understand advanced technology concepts at a detailed level, ask the right questions, and work well with vendors, SME's, engineers, management, and customers. Excellent communication skills are important including an ability to explain complex concepts to all levels of system users and management.
Job Duties:
- Provide a solid understanding of Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM), patching, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), STIG Viewer, Checklist, STIG Baselines, System Security Plans (SSPs), and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms) and Waivers.
- Ensures availability, security, and integrity of assigned databases.
– Recommends, coordinates, initiates, and adheres to change management processes, and implements vulnerability remediations and post remediation monitoring.
- Automates repetitive and/or error-prone tasks where appropriate.
- Accomplishes assigned patching task, following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Creates and maintains SSPs, STIG Checklist and Baselines, POA&Ms, and Waivers.
- Ensures achievable POA&M Milestone Estimated Completion Dates (ECDs).
- Tracks and drives POA&M Milestone completion through POA&M closure.
- Ensures accuracy of the Authoritative Database List (ADL) and modifies the ADL as required.
- Will be the Point of Contact (POC) for database security functions and processes.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of DBA experience with vendors such as Oracle, MSSQL Server, Sybase ASE, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Mongo DB.
- Solid experience with UNIX (Solaris)/Linux (RHEL) and Windows Operating Systems (OS) environments.
- Experience with Oracle products: Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Access Manager (OAM), Oracle WebLogic, and Oracle Representational State Transfer (REST) Data Services (ORDS).
- Experience with High Availability (H/A): Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Goldengate, Dataguard, and MSSQL Server clusters a plus.
- Experience with ServiceNow, SCOM, Ansible, PowerShell, and Shell Scripting a plus.
- Cross-platform migration experience a plus.

Can sit anywhere in the Continental United States.
Additional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer related studies or equivalent technical field. 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted instead of a bachelor’s degree.
- Oracle and/or MSSQL or other relevant certifications desired.

Active/Current DoD Secret clearance
IAT-2 relevant certifications (Security+).
