Overview

Financial Data Analytics & Automation Analyst:

Bowhead seeks a Financial Data Analytics & Automation Analyst to support the AF FIAR contract located at Joint Base Andrews, MD. AF FIAR provides audit and audit system remediation services for beginning-to-end support as it relates to audit remediation, sustainment, and financial statements reporting and analysis.

Financial Data Analytics & Automation Analyst will support in advancing federal financial reporting, data analytics, and process automation initiatives. This role focuses on transforming complex financial and operational data into actionable insights, while improving efficiency through automation and modern data tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data analytics solutions tailored to complex government financial systems and programs
• Analyze financial and operational data to support federal financial reporting and decision-making
• Automate manual processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness
• Develop a deep understanding of client systems, workflows, and mission objectives to align analytical outputs with operational needs
• Prepare and deliver clear, concise reports, dashboards, and briefings to senior leadership
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvement
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• BA/S in a relevant technical field preferred. An additional four (4) years of relevant work experience may be substituted for education requirement.
• Two (2+) years of relevant technical experience designing and implementing data analytics solutions in complex environments
• Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
• Strong communication skills, including experience briefing senior leaders

Nice to have:

• Experience working with Department of the Air Force or broader DoD datasets
• Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms
• Experience with PySpark or distributed data processing frameworks

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract.
