Job Summary

B&A is seeking a Web Accessibility Specialist to lead and manage accessibility compliance efforts across web applications and digital products. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment with Section 508 and WCAG standards, supporting federal accessibility requirements, and driving remediation strategies to deliver inclusive and compliant user experiences.

The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in accessibility, providing testing, analysis, and guidance to development teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Section 508 compliance efforts across all task orders and web initiatives
  • Ensure alignment of websites, applications, and digital products with federal accessibility policies, standards, and procedures
  • Conduct comprehensive accessibility testing and evaluations using automated and manual testing methods
  • Develop and deliver accessibility compliance reports, including findings, risk assessments, and remediation recommendations
  • Provide remediation guidance to developers, designers, and content creators to resolve accessibility issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate accessibility into the design and development lifecycle
  • Interpret and apply WCAG standards (2.0/2.1/2.2) and Section 508 requirements to real-world implementations
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying accessibility gaps and recommending best practices
  • Maintain documentation related to accessibility compliance, testing procedures, and standards
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on accessibility across projects and stakeholders

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in web accessibility
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting Federal Section 508 and WCAG compliance
  • Demonstrated proficiency with accessibility testing tools (e.g., screen readers, automated scanning tools, browser extensions)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Section 508 standards and WCAG guidelines (2.x)
  • Hands-on experience conducting manual and automated accessibility testing
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, including screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver)
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how accessibility is implemented in code
  • Ability to analyze accessibility issues and provide clear, actionable remediation guidance
  • Experience creating accessibility compliance reports and documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inclusive design principles
  • Ability to communicate technical accessibility concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working within federal or regulated environments

Desired Skills
  • Experience integrating accessibility into Agile/DevSecOps environments
  • Familiarity with ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) standards
  • Knowledge of usability and user experience (UX) best practices related to accessibility
  • Experience training teams on accessibility standards and compliance practices
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal
  • Experience using tools such as axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, or similar accessibility testing tools

Security Clearance
  • Able to provide proof of US citizenship
  • The ability to obtain a security clearance
